Bahamas Pics Part One

Guest post by Alex on Friday night:

Hi Everyone,
We're having a great time in Nassau, as you can see from these first pics. The weather has been cooperating and our trip to the Zoo was a lot of fun. I'm sure Kerri will post more soon, but I had a few minutes to update the blog, so I took it. We wouldn't be having as good a time if not for Kerri's planning and organization, she's making this a great trip for the family. I'm almost over my cold, and hope to be pulling my weight soon!

Kerri: I agree that the holiday is going great! We have been getting an early start since the kids seem to be getting up with the sun.. or earlier! Paul had his first swim in a pool and he loved it. Finn dipped her toes in the sea, a wave washed over her knees and now she won't go within about 50 feet of the ocean. Thank goodness for the pool! She is enjoying the friendly people, especially Charlene who gave her a shell angel. We stayed up until past 10 watching a Junkanoo performer. We had a great meal at the Black Angus. A couple from Greely sitting next to us took pity on us... and bought us drinks. Thanks Willy. If you need to buy topsoil buy from Willy in Greely!

The Artist as a Child

Finn's Drawing of Papa

Assorted Faces

I've posted two pictures of Finn's recent artwork. The first is the most amazing. As you can see, she drew a face with eyes, nose, mouth, hair. Also, you will see hands and feet (coming directly off of the head). I asked Finn who it was. She said "Papa". The square beneath Papa is a "marshpillow". The dots on Papa's face are "sprinkles". And the squiggle in the corner is her signature. As parents, it is amazing to see your kid make a picture that actually looks like something. I think Papa would have really liked his portrait!

The second picture is just a bunch of faces that she drew. She didn't tell me if they were portraits of any specific person.
